Beside some of his unconventional choices,from ‘Bombay Velvet’ to ‘Jagga Jasoos’ both films were delayed indefinitely and that took a toll on the films & Ranbir’s career. While Bombay Velvet was a complete disaster, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is a little above average but it was a great effort of Ranbir Kapoor,Anurag Basu and Disney to back this project. In a press conference Anurag Basu ssaid that he wanted children to experience a Hollywood type Indian musical and ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is an honest, relentless effort in making a captivating musical.
The film has finally hit the right chord with the audience. After an average start, the fantasy film is steadily moving up the charts, thanks to positive word of mouth. Anurag Basu’s directorial venture, which collected Rs 20.10 crore in its first two days, has shown a slight jump in figures on Sunday. According to the reports Jagga Jasoos has earned another Rs 13 crore on its third day of release, thus taking the total to Rs 33.10 crore (approx).
The movie has been in the making for over three years, during which the film’s lead pair, Ranbir and Katrina, parted ways in real life. But after three years of labour, the cast and crew were able to finally release the film and the ex-lovers did not hesitate to promote the movie together.That is a good team spirit.
The movie is about the journey of Jagga (Ranbir Kapoor) who is an amateur detective and someone who has a stammering problem the film essentially focuses Jagga’s search for his father who abandoned him at a very young age. Shruti Sengupta (Katrina Kaif) is a senior correspondent who is trying to bust an illegal arms racket and crosses paths with Jagga while both of them are trying to solve the same case.
